A Big First Step
Starting first grade is a major step for any child beginning their journey in primary education. Students are moving on from the introduction phases found in pre-school and kindergarten. They are absorbing increasingly complex new knowledge and applying it to projects and assignments more independently. The Tanglewood Academy program is designed to give them the lessons they need for the here and now, but also to provide a foundation for the second and third grade and beyond.
First grade at Tanglewood Academy
Your child will be learning and conquering all sorts of new and critical skills important both to their current and future successes. Students will master many academic basics as well as learn to utilize and practice their unique creative expression and passions through the arts. We hope to widen every child’s scope as he or she begins to learn about the country in which they live while discovering more about history, economics and geography.
At Tanglewood Academy in Pembroke Pines, we teach awareness, understanding, and acceptance of social and ethnic differences. Helping the less fortunate, working on environmental projects and doing activities in the community builds a sense of connection beyond the people they encounter at school. This all helps them be ready to thrive in their local surroundings. Our program is designed to present a balanced study of academics plus overall life experience. Every day is an amazing adventure for a child in the first grade. We give them the opportunity to absorb information while expanding their horizons. Both are important in the development of a child. With our focus on a small classroom model, each and every student will receive proper individualized and classroom education. We will ensure that every child is given the opportunity to succeed, so no one is left behind or remains confused.

First Grade Tuition and Fees: 8:00 am until 2:00 pm is $8070 per year with scholarship. ($225 Weekly)
First Grade Book Fee: $185
First Grade Registration Fee: $100
Extended hours: $35 Weekly
